Question ? Honestly, did Christ ever say that He would build His Church - The (Authorised) KJV translation would have us believe that.
Acts 17:11 Any serious study of the original Greek text would see that the true word converted to "church" was actually "ekklesia" which has no relevance or relationship to "church" as church or a building of any kind. Check out Strongs Concordance, in EVERY reference with the exception of one (robbers of temples) Acts 19:37. The true and accurate translation should be "ekklesia" which is a gathering of called out ones. It is this aberration that has infected Christendom for ages and ages. Therefore there really is no such thing as a church or going to church and if there was a need for "church" as an expression the closest we would ever get to that is that WE ARE The Church. which we really are not ..We are THE BRIDE and BODY of Christ not the church.
Christianity was the only "religion" that DID NOT REQUIRE a place to worship, so we have entrapped ourselves with Hebrews 10:25 the WORKS of religious responsibility of consistently going to A PLACE to worship as is the heathen practice.
A Good place to start..... http://www.therealchurch.com/articles/the_word_that_changed_the_world.html
We have so much emphasis on "the house" from pulpits today like this is The House of God, God is in the house, give to this house and God will give to you, but my Bible says that God does not live in a house made by hands. Acts 7:48-49 and Acts 17:24 ..but we are [the house] The Temple of God 1Cor 3:16-17 & Romans 8:16-17 etc.
The word "church" that aberration of ekklesia has become so embedded in our psyche that it is extremely difficult for anyone to relate to Christendom without the use of that word.........Try it for a month, yet it is so far from The Truth.
There is a generation arising that will also believe what they have been taught to believe and they are the children of tomorrow who will believe aberrations of human behaviour to be normal or at the very least acceptable.
As a majority of believers we have believed what we have been taught and are reluctant to change or challenge the embedded concepts that we hold to so dearly.
===================================
Three basic concepts of Christianity to start with would do well to be under the microscope of God's Word.
1. "church" and the complexity of erroneous implications evolving from such a concept.
2. "pastor's" and the very little that Gods Word has to say on what has become of this gifting.
3. "tithes" what does Gods Word really HONESTLY have to say on the matter ?
Acts 17:11 should be the determination of all believers.
Looking forward to Honest and genuine findings from renewed research in relation to points 1,2,3 above.
Once again......Thanking you
